From the very start of Vega Insiders, we have been working directly towards our goal: developing vegetarian and vegan products that make a difference. There is no sameness, but distinctive quality products that stand out above the rest in terms of flavour, cooking properties and experience. One step ahead. To achieve this, the basis must be more than good: our people, our machines, our ingredients - everything is next level.
No meat. No concessions. A simple statement that underlines Vega Insiders’ principles. As a producer of vegetarian and vegan meal components, we want to offer more than ‘meat substitutes’. We have a clear mission when developing our products: they must be responsible and healthy and so tasty that even the die-hard meat eater will be convinced.
‘Just about’ isn’t good enough. That is why we only work with the very best product developers— food technologists with more than ten years of experience in the vegetarian market. Our modern machinery can meet almost any demand. But perhaps even more important: our drive. We want to make a difference - in quality and also in impact on the environment, our health and animal welfare. Above all, we want to be innovative and not settle for what is already there. We don’t simply want to produce but experiment, innovate and inspire. Call it quirky; for us, it is self-evident.
For us, vegetarian involves more than just omitting meat. It means producing with a passion for people and the environment and constantly striving for sustainability in all aspects of our business. An example is making fewer food miles by working as much as possible with European ingredients. For us, vegetarian also means marketing distinctive, slow food products that are not only healthier but also increase the pleasure of cooking.
Our roots are located at Zilverwerf, a group of independently operating companies in the food sector. All of them are innovative niche companies, such as Meat Insiders, which started producing vegetarian products in addition to their meat products in the 1990s. The need soon arose to continue this ‘vegetarian branch’ as a separate, plant- based company: a 100% vegetarian environment with a 100% vegetarian focus—the beginning of Vega Insiders.
Although Vega Insiders has only been operational since 2021, we have years of expertise and experience - from both the Zilverwerf Group and Meat Insiders. Because we adopted the proven quality systems of our parent company, we were IFS-certified almost immediately after our start, which guarantees quality and food safety. A solid basis, coupled with a fresh and dynamic vision. Where vegetarian is not marketing but inspiration. After a flying start, Vega Insiders has proven itself to be an important player in the vegetarian market, not only as a producer but also as a partner and food inventor.
